UsTOO International is sponsoring a flyer campaign for the VA clinics across the country. Vet may start seeing these flyers popping up in clinical and hospitals around you. I will be the contact in the Las Vegas area. Here is the Nevada version going to press as we read here:

Yes, hats off to UsTOO for making the effort to distribute this valuable flyer to vets. I know it is going to be much appreciated by vets and others who will benefit from it.

As an Air Force veteran, I checked with my local VA Medical Center when the copay's for my PC drugs became a burden...There were a few hoops to jump through but in the end I now get all my prescription drugs for $8, including Zytiga, Lupron and if prescribed, Xtandi. I still see my Medicare Oncologist for the really advanced scans and treatments not offered by the VA..If you are having trouble hearing what people are taking about, they will take care of that problem too at little or no cost to you....There is one catch-22..Your annual income must be below $31,700 to qualify for these benefits...They don't count anything else, just your annual income...The VA has come a long, long ways in recent years....

Haven't seen that one yet. I'm also an Air Force vet, but a Vietnam agent orange victim so I'm service connected disability.

With the service connected disability, there are no income requirements.. Visit you local VA facility and see what they have to offer. You may be surprised. Things have changed.

John these flyers are just now going to print. This sample shown on this link for Nevada I just approved. It will be out in June...

I am just posting to raise awareness and to get the noise out there. smile

I am an Honorably Discharged Veteran with an annual income less than $31,700....That got me into Priority Group 5 which provides prescription drugs, hearing aids, eyeglasses, annual check-ups, immunizations at little or no cost..It's worth looking into...Your Medicare coverage remains in place..

Here is how the VA system works...After you sign up and are issued an I.D. card, you will be assigned a PCP, a Personal Care Physician. You make an appointment and meet with this person. They do a complete workup on you..After that, any other medical services you think you need, you first contact your PCP and explain your situation. They will have you come in for a face to face visit or they will refer you to a specialist and make the appointment for you. The VA has a slick website that lets you send secure messages to your PCP , Pharmacist, or a Specialist that has been treating you. Amazingly, they never fail to respond within 24 hours and take care of the issue you are concerned about...Prescriptions are mailed to you and you can order refills through the website. For high-dollar cancer drugs, your specialist (Oncologist) must approve the refill on a monthly basis. They may want you to come in for a visit and a blood test....Along with the big VA Hospitals there are smaller clinics that provide service in outlying areas..Again, my only reason for investigating the VA's medical services was to get help paying for drugs like Zytiga. They have done that and more...

Most excellent Tony. We have a hard working Veteran's Service Officer in our county (actually a county employee!) that keeps us well informed. I tried to view the flyer but I can't download the image as a guest (and I don't want to join another forum.)

Fairwind - that's exactly how the VA process worked for me. I think a Priority Group 5 has just minor copays for most things. Unfortunately we recently lost our LVN and RN nurses, one left and another retired. Their male replacements are not impressing me.

VA has taken care of all my pc treatment and issues.
I'm happy with them. (Agent Orange)
