Teaser 3 for "Thaw's Hammer." By now, just from reading the teasers, you can see how exciting a novel this is!
If you have not yet done so and would like to sign up to participate in the discussion which begins June 1, please post below saying so, and I will see it and add your name to the list.
(Might want to get going on the reading pretty soon, as June is just around the corner!).
The main thread about
this (May-June) Book Club cycle:
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=35&m=3839986"The Tank collapsed the snow bridge that hid the crevasse from view. They had been traveling parallel to the ledge, so the right side of the vehicle hit the snow while the left side tracked on the ice. The Tank rolled to the right and wedged inside the crevasse topside down. Jace fell headfirst and was dazed for a few moments. Karl was buckled into the driver seat and hung upside down. There was a sharp pain in his left shoulder where it jammed against the wall. He unbuckled the seat belt and held unto the straps with his right hand. Then it was a small jump to the bottom. Mirana, who had quick reflexes and a grip like an orangutan, tumbled and grabbed seats as she lowered herself to the bottom. The cargo and supplies spilled out all around them. Karl assessed the situation. Marina was fine; Jace had a cut on his forehead, but seemed otherwise intact. He had enough adrenaline going to ignore the pain in his shoulder. Although he was left- handed, he knew he could get by with his right hand. The Tank had fallen 30 to 40 feet and was wedged in, "corked," between the two sheer ice walls."
