I've been on Xtandi for 2 months and latest PSA check on 5-25-17 showed >.1. That is the lowest my PSA has been since I began treatment a little over a year ago. Feeling very blessed and a good start to the summer.
I'm wondering if the Provenge is a factor. I sure hope it is.

Hello John16,
That's the BEST NEWS ! Very thankful to hear your news !
Definite cause for celebration, just in time for the summer season !
I appreciate your loyal contributions, here on the forum.
You've been remembered in my prayers --- this news is an answer to those prayers.
Thankful for the emergence of these breakthrough medications, such as ZYTIGA, XOFIGO, and XTANDI in recent years ...
You have my heartiest CONGRATULATIONS !

Hello John, that's an excellent response to the Xtandi..They are working on ways to prolong its effectiveness or even "reset" it if it starts to stop working..Ranolazine (Ranexa) is one such drug..But it sounds like you have things well under control...And yes, the Provenge is undoubtedly playing a significant role here too..

Hey John,
That is just so fabulous! Doing a little happy dance for you. Go celebrate and enjoy some summer sunshine. I hope the side effects are minimal and you can carry this new low for a very long time.

John, that's so good to hear! I hope you're celebrating this weekend.
I'm a big fan of Xtandi, too. We're celebrating in Virginia Beach, too.
I began Degarelix solo in June 2016 and added Xtandi 3 months ago (2/2017). Friday (5/26) was my quarterly visit to Duke with bloodwork and bone scan/CT. I received good news, too. My psa is undetectable (down from 2.38 three months ago) and the scans are clear.
I hope we can trade negligible monthly PSA reports for years to come.
We discussed hitting the PCa with PROVENGE while it's on the run. Fortunately, I have two insurance plans (United Health and Tricare). Between the two, Doc believes it shouldn't be a problem getting it approved. Hopefully, we can get that rolling in June or July.
Here's to a long run of 0 PSA's!!! Bottoms up!

You couldn't ask for a better response. It's impossible to know the role of the immune system, but certainly, killing more cancer cells with hormone therapy, chemo or radiation, stimulates those amped up T cells to respond.

Great news!
Xtandi worked for my husband for 4 years and 5 months! We are hoping after he finishes his journey on Jevtana he will be able to return to the Xtandi for another long run!
Congratulations!
