I didn't go through the entire 96 pages of the PDF (second link), Jack. I didn't post it for me, or to make myself feel good. (Or look smart) I posted it because there's a lot in there that may be of interest to members that have advanced cases.

I found #5085, "Prostate cancer (PCa) in 696 hypogonadal men with and without long-term testos-
terone therapy (TTh): Results from a controlled registry study." pretty much squares with nearly everything else reported about this topic.

Even more interesting was the conclusion that, with > 5000 patient-years studied, with 8 yr follow-ups, TRT appears to decrease PCa incidence and, when it did occur, the PCa was less severe in the TRT group.

I went off my TRT mid March shortly after my nearly five-year stretch of post-RALP undetectable uPSAs got broken with a uPSA of .024 (which hasn't moved since--I'm still monitoring). Thought it prudent to do so. Next routine follow-up with uro is December.

Not really sure what to do. Have tried to do what I can to feel better without the TRT. Weight loss, lifting heavy, more aerobics, minimizing BPA contact, minimizing alcohol usage. Regardless, sure could use those extra few hundred points of testosterone, though, provided by the self-injections. Pretty sure it really does make a difference, not just wishful thinking or self-deception.

The study also suggested that "Weight loss and reduced inflammation by TTh may have contributed to our
findings" as possible reason for the TRT benefits as regards PCa. So I really may be hurting self by not doing the injections. Really puzzling what to do.

It's an annoyance when someone posts links without any value-added comment, sending the message that, "I think that my time is more valuable than yours...here's something I stumbled across about prostate cancer, I have no idea what it is, but read it for yourself because I either don't have time or inclination to read it or can't understand it."

A little value-add commentary which shows you put a little effort into it goes a long way. I, and I think many others based upon other similar comments in the past, often just don't even bother clicking on unembellished links...if it's not worth your time, it's definitely not worth mine.

Good posting etiquette (add to the Sticky note): don't just post a link...add a little something, like an opinion or comment, about it. This was a clear example: in this case the adjective "exciting" was added to the OP without a clue. Add some value.

Good days and bad days, I thought this was a good day for me, maybe it's not.

Bad etiquette, hmmmmm...........

I would think it bad etiquette to point out PUBLICLY another's bad etiquette, as I am doing now and you just did.

As I contemplate it further, Cancer Support Forums are usually meant to inform about the subject or give support/comfort to other members. Neither of which it appears you did but Pratoman did. If articles on trials and/or Zytiga don't interest you just move on.

If Pratoman broke some rule, report him.
If not, move on.

As for me, I'm off to look at the abstracts, thanks Pratoman.
