HW/PC Book Club: time to suggest books for next cycle (July-August)

Well, it's about time to begin thinking about books to suggest for the July-August cycle of our Book Club.

(I'm bringing this up now in this separate thread, so this message wouldn't get lost in the current club discussion thread).

Since it's now mid-month in the discussion month of the current (May-June) cycle, according to club rules it's time to call for suggestions for books, one to be discussed in the next cycle (July-August).

BTW, here's a quick review of the club rules, to refresh our memories:

First month: read; second month: discuss
Facilitator keeps track of who this cycle's participants are
Facilitator starts discussion by asking questions about book and invites reactions
Facilitator keeps discussion on track
Middle of second month (discussion month): facilitator calls for next book suggestions
Books discussed should be "relevant" (PCa, cancer, dealing with illness, etc.)

According to club practice, any HW PC forum participant can suggest a book, but if that book is selected (by group consensus), the person who suggested the book agrees to become facilitator for the next two-month cycle during which the book will be discussed.

That's pretty much it. Speaking as your soon-to-be outgoing facilitator, I can say that the duties of the job are not particularly onerous, actually kind of fun really, and present a chance to contribute to a forum activity.

Needless to say, there are lots and lots and lots of great books out there, that many of us have read or are aware of, that would make excellent candidates for discussion. A number of them have already been suggested during earlier club discussions, so if any of you would like to suggest one or more of them again for the coming cycle, feel free to do so. Or, mention that wonderful new book that you have just read that is just the thing for a good discussion here.

So, the floor is now open for suggestions.

Duly noted. Consider "The Fault in Our Stars" to be in the nomination hopper as of right now. And if you would like to facilitate the discussion of said book in the next round if it is selected, that would be fine.

We could have some good discussion just comparing the book with the movie.

"The Righteous Mind, Why Good People are divided by Politics and Religion" by Jonathan Haidt.

Based on research done by the USC and UCI departments of psychology. Explains why people are conservative or liberal based on 5 basic moral foundations: harm, fairness, loyalty, authority, and purity. The predisposition to think about these 5 basic morals is in most part genetic but can be changed by culture or environment.
The book helps one understand where his and others religious or political thinking comes from and hopefully will be more tolerant and understanding of other's views. Most decisions are intuitive and not a result of rational thought. Logic is only used to rationalize a decision already made by intuition.
