Over the past year I have lost about 40 pounds by learning to drink coffee. I hated it until I found cinnamon coffee from Mexico and now I can't get enough of it. I have drastically cut down from 4 cups a day to only 2. I have also been exercising from 4-6 times a week down to 3 or 4. I have had to buy almost an entire new wardrobe.
In the meantime, I have been on testosterone hormone therapy (testopel) for the past year with about 16 pellets every 4 or so months. This last time my Urologist did blood work 3 weeks ago and advised me 3 days ago that my PSA for the first time (I am 60 years old and have had PSA tests since I was 50 years old) is elevated to 5.7. Every test in the past has always been well within the norm, but this one has raised concern. My last testosterone implant was in February so they always do testosterone count before implant.
I don't know what my levels are this time, but they have been running very low in the 80 to 120 range. I have been on the manual injection with the very thick needle and the oil based testosterone a few years ago, to the Androgel 1.0 to the Androgel 1.2 to finally the testopel.
I'm just curious about this elevated level of PSA. The Urologist requested a repeat of the PSA on Thursday to confirm if the reading is the same or less.
Just curious what others think of my situation
