I have heard that Dr. Andrea Harzstark at Kaiser Oakland has a reputation for trying to stay on the cutting edge of recent research and clinical trials results for her prostate cancer patients. She was formerly with prostate cancer experts at UCSF.
You are specifically asking if/when the Kaiser system in Northern California will consider covering the costs of early Zytiga, per the recent results of the LATITUDE clinical trial, as announced at the ASCO 2017 meeting.
Dr. Harzstark would probably be a good advocate with whom to get into personal contact, if not to consider consulting with in the future. Although Kaiser may not cover early Zytiga now (i.e. prior to normal $ coverage after castrate resistance while on initial ADT), Dr. Karzstark might be a good advocate to try to convince them to do so, particularly if "ADT + early Zytiga" makes its way into the NCCN guidelines, and/or FDA approvals for the added indication, as the LATITUDE results might "sink in".
