SHARP -- MSKCC's Version of SBRT -- Any experiences here?

Hello folks,

I was wondering if anyone here was treated with MSKCC's version of SBRT -- SHARP?

This article from June states that about only about 900 patients have been treated with the procedure.

I just completed my treatment with them at the end of August. They changed the number of days for treatment from 5 fractions over 10 days to 5 over 5 days. I had my simulation done in NYC and had the actual treatment done in MSK facility in Middletown, NJ. I’m a GS9, so my treatment plan was much different than yours would be. I started with ADT, then in July I had brachy done, then a month later, SBRT. The time on the table for the SBRT was around 15 to 20 minutes. Over before you know it. Not a bad experience. I know from their article only 900 or so patients were done. I’m still dealing with some SE’s but they are diminishing. With brachy and SBRT, I think my side effects were compounded. Hopefully SHARP is as effective as other forms of SBRT. I’m trusting in Dr. Zelefsky who orchestrated everything. Time will tell.

They may vary the treatment plan based on particulars of the case or personal preference.

Have a friend (GL 7) who was treated last month and had his simulation also done in NY, and his treatment done in Basking Ridge, with treatments done every other day.
