PSA after 9 weeks of IMRT?

Hello all,

Its been awhile since I was here. After my 9 weeks of IMRT my PSA level was 10 which was down from 14.8 where I started IMRT. 3 months later my PSA was 4.7.. I only hope it continues to go down. Has anybody else had similar results after treatment?.. Does it seem to keep going down or have some of you seen the PSA increase?

Post RT PSA can be bouncy or it can fall like a rock. That's a good drop after 3 months. It can take a couple of years to hit nadir (lowest level). You can expect it to continue to fall for weeks/months/years.

you can also expect us to assume you're buying the first round.

What was you Gleason and other stats?

how much RT did you receive in the 9 weeks, any details on the process and treatment you can share?

Jay - I know it varies from one patient to another, but I was told that after radiation, my PSA should trend down, but just how quickly is unknown. As long as the trend continues downward, it could take up to several years to hit nadir (minimum).

Mine went from a pre-treatment high of 5.69 to 3.03 after 3 months, 2.86 at 6 months and 2.15 at 9 months. Everyone has a different trendline, but as long as it is going downward, I wouldn't worry.

may you continue the downward spiral. Clockwise or counter clockwise makes no difference.
