After having my prostate removed in 2007 I experienced ED and incontinence. An artificial urinary sphincter installed in 2008 (replaced last year) took care of 95% of the incontinence, but pills had little effect on the ED, and success with tri-mix injections was sporadic. So this Monday I had a three piece penile implant put in. So far it seems that in general all went well. I have just a little pain in the scrotum four days into this, but more pain in the penis. Also, my artificial sphincter isn't as easy to use as before (the pump doesn't squeeze easily). My surgeon partially pumped up the penis and it will remain that way for a few weeks. If the way it looks partially pumped up is an indication of how it will be later, I'm pleased with the post surgery size and length. Questions (perhaps to those of you who have both a sphincter and a penile implant): 1. Is pain in the penis at a level of a 7 or 8 four days out normal? 2. Should my sphincter be harder to operate than before? Thank you!

P.s. Iām really glad it was done, and look forward to trying it out in late January.

When I had my implant installed, the surgeon also did a revision on the bulb on my AUS. He placed it slightly lower because it was too high in my sack. Every time I squeezed the bulb I also had to squeeze the incision. But to answer your question, the implant surgery was fairly painful for the first week and then moderated. My AUS bulb was harder to activate due to the revision and due to general swelling in that area. I figured my pain level was pretty normal as the implant does involve a lot of sensitive tissue. Give it a couple of weeks and you will be pretty happy about
having the surgery.

Thank you jimco! That makes a lot of sense and is helpful and reassuring. My doctor also saw that my AUS had moved from the left to the right, so he put it back on the left and put the new Penile pump on the right.

PeterDisabledHard should check in shortly. He had both, though I think he had both done at the same time. I hope it works wonderfully for you!
