Naples - thanks for that good report let's hope all of us guys can follow your path of zero psa's. Have you stayed on casodex all this time also?

I stopped Casodex on 1.31.2017. Cognitive improvements as a result.

Good Morning Guys:

It has now been a little over three months since I completed my SRT and I finished my six month course of ADT in early January. Yesterday I received the results of my first 3 months post SRT PSA test. The result was again <0.008. My next PSA test is scheduled in three months.

Is a PSA test this soon after SRT very meaningful? Should I celebrate or is it too soon?

My RO was pleased when my PSA dropped after SRT. My understanding is that even static PSA is good. Just no rise. So celebrate. The fight is headed in the right direction. Congrats!

I asked the same question when mine came back at 0.00 three months after ART. My fear is that from zero, there's only one direction for it to go.

Of course, I'm hoping it just stays at zero... probably won't know for a year, when the Lupron wears off.

I get that. I received very good advice from another post about a year ago. It went something like this; “Never turn your back on the beast, go forward and live!”

I’ve done exactly that. Mental strength is all that we can manage. Our doctors do what they can but ultimately we are in God’s hands. Live well...

Hi guys again thanks for all the kind words and prayers..My wife is doing pretty good, you know we all complain about the high cost of insurance but I would have to sell everything I own to pay the bills that I and y Wife have accumulated this last year. So I am very thankful that we have the ability to have insurance.. It's great to hear some of the latest reports on you guys with good psa numbers after SRT and ADT. Let's hope we can keep this trend going!!

Just an update on my very early progress. I got both a bone scan an MRI done this past week. The bone scan showed no sign of metastasis. It did show some early arthritis in the joints especially in my AC joint. When I looked that one up it stated that the AC joint can get damaged by ‘active’ individuals to include cycling where you fall over your handle bars which brought back memories of my mountain biking days where flying over my handle bars was a somewhat normal occurrence lol. The MRI of the pelvic area came back negative also.

I picked up my first 30 day prescription for bicalutamide last night and I’ll take my first pill tomorrow. I want one last day of my old normal before truly beginning the next phase of treatment. Approximately two weeks after the first pill I’ll get my first one month shot of lupron. Six weeks after that will be simulation time.

Hi Mike that was good news on your scan you should do fine on Lupron and SRT and then check in another 70 months hey? That was a good run!!

We both had persistent PSA, at a pretty high level, after surgery.

Hoping your SRT is successful!

We'll both know if SRT worked after stopping HT -
