Began De-Bulking Radiation

I hadn't posted in a while so wanted to keep everyone updated. My PSA had crept up to 4 although scans remain clean. Team at MDA felt a couple of pelvic nodes and one seminal vesicle looked "suspicious" so I began the first of 39 sessions of Radiation to the Prostate and Pelvic region this week. I have also switched to Zytiga from Xtandi.

It will be a long Holiday season but hoping for a long term good result.

John,

You will do well as you are in great shape. Stay hydrated and keep your exercise routine going and you shouldn’t have much fatigue. More than anything this is a daily inconvenience.

My RP and Adj RT were both failed therapies, so there are likely mets somewhere in my system. I have reframed those therapies into viewing them as debulking efforts that will hopefully slow the spread. I hope your debulking treatment slows your cancer as well.

Thanks for the update - I hope that slows it down for you. I'm also hoping that with the Provenge immune boost still relatively recent in your system, that radiation will induce an abscopal effect that will get rid of even more of the cancer.
