6 month post SBRT PSA Report

Just received my 2nd PSA report since completing SBRT last July. PSA at three months was 2.50 and this time is 1.64. Obviously, I'm very pleased with the results so far and am very grateful to Dr Debra Freeman and her team at the Cyberknife Center of Tampa. However, I would never have even known about SBRT much less Dr Freeman had I not found this site so I'm also deeply indebted to all the members here who shared their personal experiences and provided insight to me in a very vulnerable and confusing time. And special kudos to TA. Everyone here knows what an extraordinary human this man is and all who spend time here benefit from his breadth of knowledge and experience.
So for now all is good. I'm marching toward my nadir and quite honestly dreading the expected bumps but I know it's just part of the process. I wish all here who are battling this dreaded disease the best.... keep fighting the good fight.

Thanks Roger. Please post your results in a couple weeks. I, like you, would definitely have gone straight to surgery. In fact, my uro scheduled me for surgery which I ultimately opted out of. All forms of treatment have a place and surgery works well for lots of people, but I'm quite well satisfied with my treatment choice no matter what the outcome may be in the future. I wish you the best with your upcoming PSA my friend.

And I'll simply echo your praise of TA. He is a great resource for our forum and we are lucky to have him posting here. He is our "go-to" guy for lots of things and he knows his stuff...

Busman.....Thank you.....I have followed your progress from the beginning and truly wish you the best. Be sure and post your results when you get them. It's quite informative as a fellow post toastie to read of all the similar and/or different experiences that people have. BTW, my radiation oncologist told me that bounces don't always occur so that isn't a guarantee. She has be testing every three months until my PSA levels out and I have a lot of confidence in her. Best of luck with your first "draw".

Hey Paxton.....Thanks for the comments and please do give a heads up on your "bounce" experience. From what I have read, that is quite typically a "non-event" in that on the next test you will very likely resume your downward trend toward nadir. Maybe it's just a subtle reminder to those of us who chose SBRT to not get too cocky with the minimal side effects and remember that if the treatment actually does result in a "cure" how fortunate we really are.

Paxton.....I heard that also and that in general the more gradual the decline, the better. I guess only time will tell. Either way, I have been around a number of people who have been battling various forms of cancer and that really has provided me some perspective and certainly makes worrying about a bounce pretty inconsequential. I honestly find it almost hard to believe that the treatment I had was "cancer" treatment. Chemo, it wasn't!
