I know this is a little off topic but deals with life.. one of my good biking friends from our Tuesday nite rides was riding with the crew tonite while going up a hill he had a heart attack and died. Several of the guys tried cpr n law enforcement was there immediately and tried the paddles. He was 59 or 58 maybe 3 to 4 % body fat absolutely great shape. I would have been riding with the guys if I wasn't down here at Mayo. We were fat tire riding just last week n he said we were really pushing hard i just kinda chuckled n told him he was just loafing. Man a person just never knows hey?

Wow Larry, so really sorry to hear about
your riding friend. I know last year when I was riding my first century I’d joke about
not blowing my heart up as I got closer and closer to the finish line. The loss of your friend while cycling puts it all back into perspective for me.
As SP so rightly stated we can stack the odds in our favor with healthy habits but there’s no guarantee as to what life throws our way.
