Our Onocologist is now thinking that since my husband is castrate resistant and his PSA is rising, he might have him do Provenge + Zytiga + Eligard shot .... I'm reading that Provenge may have adverse affects on patients with COPD. My husband has had COPD forever, one form or another ... and is under the care of a Pulmanary doctor in another state. Has anyone done Provenge with COPD on here?

I will point out the COPD to his doctor on our next visit in May, especially if he does want him to do Provenge ... but wanted to see if anyone here has any first hand knowledge/experience. Thanks.

Before they will do Provenge, they will have you consult with a specially trained doctor who knows all the pitfalls and problems associated with doing this treatment.. Part one of this treatment is done in a specialty blood lab where they separate a portion of his blood cells. Then, a few days later, the treated blood cells are infused back into hubbies body, usually at your Onco's office..You will have to ask some questions to find out about the COPD thing..I have a feeling your insurance company will balk at doing Zytiga and Provenge at the same time....

Thanks Fairwind ... I think Dr. Sartor is thinking Provenge and then follow up with Zytiga. But, I could be wrong. He did have another Eligard shot today and is to stop taking the casadex.
