Back from vacation

My wife and I had a great vacation. We did the river cruise through Europe and loved seeing everything. We started in Budapest and ended in Amsterdam. I've never traveled in Europe before and loved getting to see so much over there.

Sadly, it had to end and we arrived back home late last night.

Tomorrow it's back to work, including regularly annoying folks on this forum.

Welcome back...there's been a void in the common sense part of our community while you've been gone.

And Budapest to Amsterdam? Wow, you went pretty much from one end to the other! PS I used to like the fact that a certain substance was legal in Amsterdam, but now that it's legal in California (and several other states), that part has lost its uniqueness.

Welcome home Andrew. Sounds like you saw the neart of European history, which ran along its rivers especially the big ones, far longer than it has run along roads. Paradoxically, the rivers were both boundaries between cultures and pathways for cultures to interact. Was the wine OK?

We've been to Europe many times but I think long aircraft flights are out of the picture for both the wife and I now due to issues on the back end (if you know what I mean.) We traveled quite a bit when we were younger just because we realized it would be easier for us and that turned out to be a great plan.

I wish there was a transporter like on Star Trek that could fly our atoms 2,000 miles in a minute or so ;)

GoBucks - I eat everything bad, drank too much wine and discovered that in Europe they vegetables other than broccoli... ;)

Grayl - I try to plan vacations around my days off. ;)

Progressing - The wines were great. Mostly we had Germany and Austrian wines. All very good (and included in the price of the trip).

Gear - don't talk about it, do it! You'll enjoy it.

Subdenis - Great! I loved that section of the river.

Welcome back, sounds like an awesome trip. I hope one day to trip around the uSA at least..retirement beckons..

Thanks for your reply to my de-fense post.I am still sore 4 days after. It is tough getting old!. But I am still going to start that blog.I like your format, cuz you talk about so many everyday things ..and of course your poetry..is masterful..masterly..er..mantastic...fantastic!
