I've seen a lot of web links posted that aren't clickable. The software that drives this site doesn't automatically detect URLs and make them clickable. There are some tags you can add to your post that will make the link clickable. like this:
[ u r l ] http://fancylink.com [ / u r l ]
except when you do it remove the spaces between the letters in the square brackets.
If you look at the tool bar above where you're writing your post you'll see a row of buttons that can be used to add the tags to your text.
and the English grammar cop in me is making point out:
1. They are web sites (not web sights) as in, "Here's a nice web site."
2. You give people advice (a noun)
3. Advise (a verb) is when you give someone advice (note the difference in the 'c' and 's')
"I'd like some advise" is an incorrect English sentence. It's pattern is subject, verb, verb when it should be subject, verb, object as in, "I'd like some advice."

A helpful reminder about
the URL. Not so helpful regarding spelling. Some may be reluctant to post if their words will be blue-penciled.

As to posting links in general, there are some guidelines:
- We are very suspicious of "new members" who immediately start posting links. That is usually a sign of spammers. So we will delete links in posts from those who have not taken a few posts (10 is my magic number) to let us know who they are and how they relate to the site - newly diagnosed, active/ inactive patient, spouse, child, etc.
- Any post with a link should give at least a one line descript
ion of what and why you've taken the time to post it.
- Some now departed members would overwrite the link with something like click HERE. So unless the reader knows to hover over HERE to determine where the link goes before they jump into the abyss, they suddenly find themselves in a place they may not care to be. I tend to delete or edit those links.

As 142 mentions, this is not to be abused, but this is the format I use when I post a link to an article. Just for those who want to make occasionally arcane links look more understandable. Sometimes the article links are long and complicated.
In this example you'd see "Title of fancylink article" as text in a different color, and the link itself isn't shown. Remove the blanks to make it work.
[ u r l = http://fancylink.com ] Title of fancylink article [ / u r l ]

This is helpful. I have posted a link or three in the past and it's always been some sort of trial-and-error to do it. Which pretty much defines everything in my life to date.
