I am so very sad with this news. My heart is broken. I am Jeff and have had the pleasure to have hosted GFMPH where John and Chris were able to attend. He made a big impression on all of us. His love of life and friendships shown through so brightly. He knew that his case was a very difficult road and accepted it. In my heart I just knew that he would be one of those that beat the beast.

I pray that Chris and the boys can find peace knowing how much John loved them and that sometimes it is just out our call as to when we go.

I will miss my friend. So very SAD!

For those who didn't know John, this is a link to his original post here just over 2 years ago. He posted as John16. He had a serious situation right from the outset.

Diagnosed just about the same time as me. Puts into prospective just the kind of thing we are dealing with here..

My prayers are with his family....

Dear Brothers and Sisters ~

I had kept in touch with our brother, John16, ever since he was first diagnosed. He and I supported each other, over time ~ and through our treatments. He lived life to the fullest, with an upbeat and positive attitude.

He and I both believed in the tremendous support that stems from family, friendships, and faith.

Saturday morning, I woke up and felt an overwhelming need to send our brother John16 a message. Shortly thereafter, I received a message from his wife, Christine, sharing the sad news that John had just passed away that morning.

He was 55 years old, and his funeral was held today, November 16, 2018. I will miss my friend and comrade. He is now sheltered from the storms of life.

As John would wish, let us carry forward ~ and continue to keep in touch with our fellow brothers, here on the website ~ and continue in our efforts to encourage each other, in all aspects.

From Khalil Gibran's THE PROPHET, are these words, "When you part from your friend, you grieve not, for that which you loved most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain."

John16 ~ thank you for your friendship, fellowship, and brotherhood. May you rest in peace.

Our sympathy for John and Christine and those who were close friends. They were a great team in life and in their shared cancer battles. Much too young for John to pass and hopefully Christine will find love and solace in their family and friends.

John was my brother. I signed up on this site at his suggestion, shortly after his diagnosis. I read here often, to educate myself without having to constantly ask him questions. I want to thank everyone who participates on this site. John was a great person, and a great brother. He leaves so many broken hearts.
