1st Lupron shot done / Question about LVI and SRT

Thanks for your feedback to my questions about Lupron -- I found it all very helpful. I did the three-month shot (they didn't have one-shot dose available) so I bit the bullet and went for it.

Next question: My post-operation pathology showed lymphovascular invasion (LVI) and I need to understand if that finding should lead me to have my lymph nodes radiated when I do SRT in January (in addition to the prostate bed). I've received differing opinions from several doctors (urologists and ROs) and I cannot seem to find any information online. I'd hate to radiate the lymph nodes if evidence does not support doing so, but I don't want to go through 40 treatments, skip the lymph nodes, and have regrets later if the RT fails.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with regard to this?

That's a tough one, Gleason 8 with LVI , what is your doctor's explanation of chance of undetectable micro cellular spread? At your age I can see the reluctance to give more Rads than necessary. Big punch up front is something to think about.

I finished up my SRT about 2 months ago. My RO did the lymph nodes first and then the prostate bed, 26 and 14. In my followup he said a lot of doctors don't want to take the extra 3 hours it takes to plan out the lymph nodes but he felt it was worth it since you're there already. I can't say if that's true or not but he sounded like he was speaking from experience. The only SE I had consistently during that time was nausea. It wasn't horrible but I felt queasy the whole time. That went away as soon as they went to the prostate bed. I'm of the opinion I'm glad I had it done now instead of maybe later. I was pretty clueless through my whole journey so I never had any input as to do it or not.
