Not wanting to step out of bounds here, but there is a cancer treatment center advertised a lot on the television. They have a number of locations in & 'of America'. I don't seem to see much talk of them on the forum, but they sing a pretty song on the advertisements. They have a location not too far from me and I am interested in what they have to say. To what extent may we discuss them? Can I give more clues? Have I already said too much?

Pontiac, no problem in mentioning the names of providers but we don't want them "bashed". So responses like, "they were great" or "I preferred not to use them, email me" are fine. "They were terrible doctors who should be tarred and feathered for their incompetence" is not ok....

Also I believe there may have been some discussion about them before so you may want to try the search function to see if you can find some prior commentary.

It seems like your question should be, "Does anyone here have direct experience with Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa that they'd be willing to share? It's not too far from me and I am interested in what they have to say.

Yes like the mod says, use the little "custom search" box feature, just type in the initials of that place and then press. There are some diverse comments there. Coincidentally, I just posted about them-see "PSA undetectable 50 months" Just saying, search out the best available location, that one and others I think listed as Centers of Excellence,etc, but for me it works out great because of the overall feeling I get when I go there, and the professional, competent and caring Oncologists.if you want you can E-mail me!

You get "treated" by the physician, not by a heavily advertised center. Research the docs

Take note that the leading cancer research and treatment facilities have little need to advertise.

Actually the well known treatment centers are constantly advertising, especially MD Anderson. Here in Atlanta Emory Winship is all over the media as is the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute.

They sure don't "constantly advertise...all over the media" down here, or in other places I stay. In any event I wouldn't use CTCA, based on many first hand reports, but I'm glad Wings had a good experience.

After visiting with them for a short time, I suspect I'll pass. I don't doubt their abilities. I think from an overall standpoint they have a good product (total package) to offer. My problem is their location in Tulsa that I can deal with easily is out of network with the insurance company and I don't want to travel to their locations that do honor my network. Besides, I tend to agree with Garyi.
And Blackjack, grammer was never my strong suit.

MSKCC advertises in NY incessantly. For me, it’s nauseating already.
Re CTCA always gave me the feeling that they were just driven by the profit motive, not research or community service, etc. I might be wrong about that, just a feeling
Still as was mentioned, it’s really about the Dr;
