T3a+

Just got back from the Doc. My T3a is close to a T3b, a microscopic amount of PC was left outside the margin. RP 11/27, he likes radiation within 1 year, I want to wait and closely monitor PSA and then decide.
After 9 years of active surveillance I missed it by a month or so. Uhhhhg! Had I known of this possibility I would have been treated back when I knew we got it all, bad timing, and perhaps some bad advice.
Anybody in the same boat? How bad is this radiation process? Side effects?

I don’t think I could do Hormone therapy, if surgery and radiation don’t get it done I may just take my chances.
I’m going to do everything I can, diet, exercise, bail out of stress issues etc and hope for the best. First PSA in three or four weeks.

It sucks ! Like all options , AS also has its risks.
Keep your spirits up ( easier said ) , if you feel you are down seek help (those medicines are good - I take zyban) and I would go aggressive with ADT + SRT.

Been there. T3b here. My personal take is if you have G4's that are easy to find, then there are likely/possibly a G5 or 2 as well.

Time is important here, and the standard is to 'hit it while it's down', right after surgery. The ADT chemo further weakens whatever cancer remains so it is more likely to die from the radiation.

Yep, the therapies suck. The question is "do I do everything I can to try for a cure or accept that I may die of stage 4 cancer knowing I backed off of those therapies."
