Nothing, however, is not equivalent to zero. Zero is a quantity, therefore it is something. Zero, however, cannot be achieved. It can be approached from both sides--witness our dedication in this forum to assuming that "<" is equivalent to zero.

Wow. Classic. A good video to watch during chemo?

Reminds me of the time in my life when I was working rotating shifts at a power station. "Hoot Owl" shift is kind of like that in operations. Try sitting in a comfy chair in a control room with a low frequency vibration and a 60 cycle hum in the background. about like watching paint dry.

And, hate to say it, but there really ARE control room operators exactly like Homer Simpson.

Halbert is right about zero not being nothing, nothing is null, zero is not. My favorite null idea is null space.

Control room musings, in my early I/T years I was a Computer Operator on an IBM mid-range System38.
I worked alone with a set of very scheduled activities, and I had lots of time where all I did was absolutely nothing (for work).
I just sat there and tried to read.
But after awhile the hum of the 38 and the constant sound of the band printers zipping along started to turn me into Homer J Simpson.
Paid my penance for seven years until a programming position came thru.
I had forgotten how to interact with people, it was kind of freaky.
I had to stop talking to myself as that was a skill/habit I had built up over the years.

Your Wildcats come in at four seed. Nice. My Hawkeyes limped in at the end for a 10. I guess our teams will square off in Louisville.😉

Yes they will!!

The only thing about the seedings I have a problem with is that the school from LowRents got a 4 seed also and is placed in the Midwest. That is total BS, ISU won our tournie, TTech and KSU shared the regular season conference championship.

And yet, those chickenhawks get a better seeding.

How to change your ugly nonsensical youtube url to something meaningful
When you create your first bracket place url=<web link here> then after the right bracket placePlace your descriptor.

Example Nothing link from my previous post. I'm going to leave off the the first and last brackets.

Place a left bracket at the beginning.

I liked it.... but thought from about 6'27 - 8'13 was slow.

I found the overall theme of the 10 hours held together rather well. It kept on script and there are no holes in the plot. Largely a very well done piece of theater.

I would have loved the video but it bothered me how much this dude doesn't know how to paint.
Kept thinking about what he did wrong.
Loaded the paint brush up, I guess he's rich as it will be very hard to clean that brush up later.
Probably have to throw the brush away.
He loaded the board up with way too much paint, and was very sloppy.
He didn't smooth it out.
He missed a spot.
Duuuuude sucks as a painter, but the writer of the script was spot on.

I give him a 7 out of 10.

So, who will be the NCAA Men's B-Ball National Champion.

My heart is of course with KSU, but I'm a realist.
I'd say either Virginia or Duke.
But I hope not, I want all the #1 and 2 seeds to fall.

My beloved KSU plays tomorrow at 1:00. #EMAW

One morning Bob the bat flew back to his cave. All the other bats noticed that he had blood dripping from his face and assuming he’d found something great to eat, starting asking him, “What did you find? Where is it? Is there more of that?”

“I don’t want to talk about it.” Said Bob.

“Come on Bob, you have to share! If you found some thing good to eat, you have to share.” Said the others.

“I didn’t find anything to eat. I’ve had a bad night. Leave me alone.” Replied Bob.

But they wouldn’t. The other bats kept crowding around demanding Bob tell them where he got the blood on his face.

Finally Bob yelled, “FINE! I’ll show you. Follow me.” And out of the cave they flew.

Bob led them over a mountain, through a meadow, across a stream, and stopped in front of a large tree.

“See that tree?” Asked Bob.

“Yes, Yes!” The other bats said excitedly.

“Yeah, well, I didn’t.”

Moral of the story: When flying at night, look out for trees. They hurt if you hit them at full speed.

As I read the story I was thinking the moral might be something along the lines of not making assumptions. There are many possible reasons for having blood dripping from your mouth. But yeah, avoiding trees at night is a good idea.
