I’m now 6 months since my last Lupron treatment. T is still very low. What I have noticed is an increase in joint pain. It’s not in a consistent area, just all over. Every morning I feel like I’ve played an NFL game or something tougher. I do take Motrin and it seems to help a bit. Any others feeling the same?
Thanks for your comments. Baseball is coming!

My last lupron injection was in July, 2018. My arthritis pain increased while I was on it. In both my hands and knees. After I was off it for about
4 months, my arthritis pains subsided. Now, 8 months out, they are back. I also had sharp pains in the tendons of my forearms, which are now back also. My cardiologist just took me off Plavix, and I may try taking Aleve again, since that was the only thing that helped with the pain.
Lupron can do a real job on you. Ask me how I know.........lol

sadly that is a known side effect. It should get better as the T recovers.

Twelve months after my final dose of Lupron and I was expecting some improvement by now, but the arthritis pains are worse than ever in neck, shoulders, low back, knees and ankles. Strangely just within the past few weeks I've also been getting shooting pains in the long bones of the humerus and femur, plus my pin sites from the external fixators in the tibia have been hurting, for the first time in a decade or so.
I find myself wondering how much is after effects of HT and how much is just aging. HT will eventually wear off, aging will not.

We're kind of hard to please sometimes. We have our prostates treated so we can keep on getting older and the birthdays keep on piling up. Success! But as we get old and creaky you'd think it would make us grateful -- we ought to think "You know, if it weren't for Dr. C I might not have lived long enough to have such worn out knees." But noooo.
My only actual, you know,
helpful
suggestion is to avoid prostate cancer tunnel-vision. Your ADT may or may not have contributed to your aches and pains but that doesn't mean your oncologist is the best doctor to treat them. What do your regular doctors say about
your joint pain?
Oh, and someone mentioned "Motrin." That's the expensive branded version of ibuprofen. You can save money by buying the OTC generic instead. Pretty much all ibuprofin pills have the same amount of the same drug and the cheapest ones are the little red ones. But I like the blue caplets better... because they are prettier... I buy them at Costco in gross lots. They come in bottles the size of mayonnaise jars.

I agree with Peter - I am real clear that my joint pain is from my life style and residuals from years of martial arts power - breaking. Had some additional pain from the Prolia, but that faded as the Prolia faded.

I woke of this morning wondering about
my hand pain and lupron. A little pain in knees and feet too. I am 3 months out of a six month Lupron journey. It worked on helping to kill the cancer with my 1st 3 month PSA at .04 and my T-ToT up to 440. I have the feeling I will need to deal with this joint pain for a while. There are some hand exercises from the Mayo Clinic that help https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/arthritis/multimedia/arthritis/sls-20076952 Also I too will down a couple of ibuprofin in the middle of the night. The best thing to do with arthritis is keep moving. At night you can't move so it gets worse. As far as cancer treatment side effects I suppose it could be worse. I wish everyone good luck on this.

Joint pain in the hands for me has become a way of life and lately my right shoulder it's interesting the days I am suffering more hot and extreme hot flashes are the days when the pain gets worse especially during the nite and into the morning.

I love PDA's well-crafted responses.
PDA, where have you been? Hope you are well...

I've been doing well, Blackjack.
That's the problem, in a way. When you start getting stuff done people notice and give you more stuff to do. I've been kinda busy with, you know, life and everything.
Could be worse, I guess.
