Well said, Trailguy. As always, more research is needed. It seems that we so seldom get a new piece of information from research that tells us unequivocally what we need to know, without further research needed.
Meats and beans remain on my plate also, but that might have to change in the future depending on new info. As it is, the only foods I make some effort to limit are those that end up as blood sugar. Except when I temporarily limit them all during a fast. (oh, also, I try to limit EXCESS protein, whatever that might be)
I also add some foods based on evidence (or should I say "rumors"?) that they might be helpful. Scientific proof is lacking, but so is proof of harm, and got to eat something. So if I don't dislike it, if there is even a rumor of benefit, then why not? Unfortunately for me, no rumors so far in favor of sugar.
More or less all of the above for supplements. And I suppose exercise. Has there ever been an RCT for exercise vs PC or cancer in general? Most likely there have been plenty of observational studies, but I don't know about
RCTs, which would probably be hard to do. (imagine the control group: you are to do no exercise. ) And you know how it is: for some folks, if you don't have the large RCTs with placebo, and showing statistical significance, then there is NO evidence. But, not me. I will accept reasonable evidence if there is also no evidence of harm, and if it is something I can tolerate doing. Even if "more studies are needed", as it seems there always are.
