Just got my lipids done and Triglycerides are up over 44%!
I have lost 17 pounds.
Total cholesterol is insignificantly down, good cholesterol is up.
I have a tire around my stomach which was not there previous even with the weight loss.
My GP assures me ADT has no effect on LIPIDS.
I had Degarelix for the first month, the double heavy does, with no side effects to talk about. Some hot flashes.
I received Lupron two weeks ago and have had a bunch of side effects. Pain in testicles, pain in stomach, wild emotions more significant hot flashes, visual disturbances....
What benefit does Lupron offer over Degarelix that it is the primary treatment?
My understanding was they are both close to the same, except Degarelix will get your Testosterone levels down quicker than Lupron. Also I thought Degarelix was a 30 day injection versus Lupron being 90, 180 or possibly a yearly shot. AS far as Lipids I have been on Lipitor for the past 20 yrs so mine remain normal via medication. Hot flashes where a wild ride for me and to this day still take Gabapentin to control them. I have not experienced really any other side effects with lupron except the spare tire.
