I’ve gotten a few low results on CBC, specifically lymphocytes, 3 months ago, and again last week. Has anyone experienced this post SRT and/or HT?
My last 3 month Lupron shot was in November of last year
The most recent result on lymphocytes was .7, the prior test result 3 months ago was .86. Normal ref range is 1.0-3.3.
Seeing Hematologist but not till 3rd week August

As far as HT effects on the CBC about the only one is on hemoglobin which is expected to fall in just about in everyone. I doubt that lymphocytes would be affected. RT will often lower lymphocytes but not for long. I would have expected yours to have recovered by now. However, a lymph count as you describe is not a problem. I bet the hematologist will say "don't worry about it. But we'll check it again in 3 months, anyway."

I had CBC diffs done in May 2017 (1 month after completing IMRT & 6 months of Lupron) and also May 2018 (after 18 months of Lupron). Lymphocytes were below normal with both (.52 in 2017, .83 in 2018) but my Drs. didn't seem to be concerned about it. I haven't had a CBC diff done yet this year but some of my other counts (hemoglobin, hematocrits, RBC) that were low while on the Lupron have returned to normal.

Yeah, you need the specialist on this one. I recall post RT, my doctor watched it for awhile but I never had a problem. I do know a couple of cancer patients (not PC) who've had this post RT. Don't recall what the solution was.

In your case the question be whether or not it needs to be treated.

But it's very likely it will just recover on its own.

Argent, yes, my Hemoglobin is low, but improving , now just barely below the normal range
What’s discordant with the low lymphocytes is that white blood count is normal, and neutrophils are (just barely) high

Kent, that’s good to know. In fact my memoglobin AND hematocrit and Red blood count have been low but are improving. Hematologist didn’t seem concerned COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO.
