When I had my recurrence, I wanted someone to say.
Tough break, I'm sorry for you. I'll be there for you.
In the end, there's not much to be said.
For me, talking is the best thing.
Thank you alephnull. It’s my sister who is overwhelmed and lost. Her husband is tight lipped. Refuses to talk about
it. I believe he is just so stunned that anything like this could happen to him, he just shuts down in order to keep his life as familiar to him as possible.
(We’re a lot alike in that respect). Eventually, he comes around.
@Go Bucks. Thanks. I know it’s taking it’s toll with them. It’s an elephant in the room in what’s, so far, been a story book, best friend, 35 year marriage.
They threw the kitchen sink at it 4 years ago together with primary tx. They just both assumed it was behind them forever. So, It’s the same feelings for them, all over again. Starting over.
I hate it for them both. Especially my sister. We buried my brother’s wife a month ago. She was 58 years old. fwiw
.
