PSA's have been below 1 for some time. Think last time at 4 yrs after my HDR it came in at about
0.16. New result just came back at about
0.4. Significant? My GP who gave me the results today was not concerned. Met with my Uro about
a month ago before results came in so I don't have his input. The URO had given me a digital test and did not find any issues with the prostate.
On a 6 month sched now for testing. Do a test sooner than that since this was a rise?

Since you still have a prostate, some bouncing around is normal. One test isn't really a concern - its the trend over a number of tests. You might ask for a retest in three months just to confirm the result. Lab error or other issues might be at work.
I wouldn't overly concerned at the moment, but do follow up on it. A call the URO's office might be in order.

What he said.
As long as your PSA is less than nadir + 2 there's no reason to worry.
But if the trend is consistently (!) up, some action should be considered.

Why not call UCLA and get their opinion since they treated you? I'm not sure if Demanes is there on a part time basis or not, but certainly the team there should have a good perspective on this.
I was surprised to get a call out of the blue a few years ago from someone in the brachy program at UCLA asking me how I was doing. Apparently, my PSA results were no longer being sent to them so they were following up.

From my experience, I would not bank on your primary care physicians opinion about
the PSA results. Of course your mileage may vary, my primary care guy is a great doctor for internal medicine knows Jack about
PSA after prostate removal.
I agree with Andrew I would retest in three months maybe two, since that was a decent size jump from the last test. Until then I wouldn’t stress too much about
it because it won’t change anything

Oh yes, it could. Stress causes inflammation which in turn can fuel increased PSA. So PLEASE don't stress!
