I've been around here since 2012 but don't often post other than to respond to others' comments. But this is a special and rare place. I have friends I exchange news or opinions with because we were in high school together, others because we are veterans of one war or another, and some because they play guitar better then me but let me hang out anyway. But this is a special and self-selected group. I'm privileged be a member here.

My Axumin scan a week ago shows nothing, even though PSA is rising. There is still an excellent chance I'll die of a gunshot wound from a jealous husband when I'm 95. So I can now go back to harassing my high school and military buddies who may not be as lucky as me.

Bohemond, well at least no mets we’re detected. More time you have without clinical evidence, seems the better.
And whatever you do to deserve a\the gunshot wound from the jealous husband, I hope it’s worth it lol.

I agree with both you and Steve , his place really is special. It’s a shame that the coronavirus has distracted our attention from PCa, but it’s good that we can discuss it here since it’s on everyone’s mind these days. Hopefully we can go back at some point to being more PCa focused, when and if the virus is eradicated thru vaccine. But until then I think any new guys that show up and any veterans of the forum with new issues, are getting the help they need here, and that’s a good thing. I guess we can walk and chew gum at the same time. Lol

This place and Veterans benefits network have been a life saver for me. and yes Bohemond your input has helped. Glad for the out come....

Yes, it is a great post. I've kinda bonded with a few Comrades here. I usually look forward to seeing what's going on in the forum.

I hope to be hanging out for many more years.

Congrats on clear scans, Jim. May they always be so! Special place indeed.

Mumbo - Missing MerleFest was a bummer. But as a consolation event, they streamed all 4 days of the Watson stage and adjacent cabin stage from Merlefest 2012. So we had a 4 day virtual MerleFest at home this year. They chose 2012 because it was Doc Watson's last festival. We were at the Creekside stage on Sunday morning in 2012 and saw Doc's last ever performance. He died three weeks later.

For those not familiar, the festival started as what was meant to be a one-time memorial event in memory of Doc Watson's son and musical partner Merle, who died in a tractor accident in 1985. So many musicians dropped what they were doing and turned up from all over the country it turned into an annual non-profit music festival that supports the community college. 70 to 80 thousand people come - some just for a day others, like us for all 4 days. Many local organizations depend on the event for a large piece of their budget. Several organizations including two volunteer fire departments operate campgrounds with shuttle buses to the festival. Other's - Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, churches, community college departments, etc. operate food tents, etc.

Well Jim, on the one hand I am glad to hear that your Axumin scan showed nothing even with your PSA rising to .92 in May. Good for you! On the other hand, I am in the process of scheduling an axumin scan at suggestion of my URO and an RT I have consulted with. My recent CAT scan was completely negative, but my bone scan was weird in that it was called negative EXCEPT for a tiny spot on my sacrum. But the doctor reading the scan felt that it looked more like an old trauma, apparently, rather than a met, so the scan was still called negative, "but consider clinical" situation. IOW, a high risk guy with slowly rising PSA over 6 years.

So, the Axumin scan is under consideration. Because if it is the spot on the sacrum, RT of the prostate bed would not get it, plus all might be resolved by just radiating the spot. But, we have discussed that at my PSA level, about 1/3 of yours, it might not be big enough to be detected by that scan. It appears the RT wants to schedule it after my next PSA next week. But, if you showed nothing at .92 PSA, is it likely I would at 1/3 of that? Maybe one thing that could make a difference: if it IS the spot on the sacrum, and that one spot is big enough to cause a rise in PSA, maybe that would be more likely to show on a scan as opposed to several smaller spots?

Oh well, I am probably going to have the scan done, if they want me to. But do you or anyone else think it would be a waste of time?
