... wondering if there is any concern on your part why you would be ending lupron now maybe go for a year?

I also just did specifically ask the RO if, given my pathology, were they absolutely sure they wanted to stop the Lupron after 7 months, and I have started the paperwork re: second opinion on the pathology from Johns Hopkins. I doubt they would want to stop after 7 months if there was an upgrade to a G9 or G10.
Stephen, G8 is nothing to be complacent about
. You don't have to be G9-10 for the cancer to continue to spread. My RO initially wanted to time my injections so that the Lupron would wear off as soon as RT ended. But then he told me that the RT would continue to work for 8-9 months after the end of treatment. So I asked to continue with another six months of Lupron so that it would be working during the same time period. Then he abruptly retired.
So I was just going on what he had told me, plus the Uro who had done my RP said I'd likely be on HT for three years, and articles I'd read which said that 18 months is just as good as three years. Though my PSA has been "undetectable" ever since, so has my testosterone. So until I see T recovery in the absence of a PSA rise, I'm not believing that the game is over and it's time to drop the glove and go home.
Good call on the 2nd opinion on your pathology. But even if it's still G8 you might feel more comfortable going for an additional six month shot. Sort of a belt plus suspenders approach.
