Tried to make the title a little different his time. Since my last name is Kasper, all my life people call me "Kasper" the ghost. Whatever. So I got my latest 4 month check-up and lab results..for the 75th month in a row...drum roll.. near zero PSA. ...0.014..undetectable!!! once again. PC is not busting this ghost anytime soon.. I am very pleased.
I don't know why I am so blessed, I don't know what I am doing right, but I in reality, I see that I am just one step from the other side.
An old friend called me last week. He has Covid, was in the hospital with a bad cough. Fortunately, he recovered so far, and is home.
I recently started a new job, 27 individuals on our team at China Lake Ca. One member felt unwell last Sunday, and slowly slipped away. 911 was called . His heart stopped, he was only 50 years old. You never know. In two months , I never even met him , just exchanged a few e-mails, but he was the first to welcome me to the team.
Yesterday, I sat next to another PC Patient on the way from the airport to the to the hospital at CTCA. He had been going there for 11 years now, diagnosed with advanced PC in 2008. His hometown Urologist at the time suggested he had only 1-2 years back then. On Zytiga for the past 9 years, undetectable until recently, he is now 72 years old. But the cancer has started to spread, and he now needs Chemo treatments.
He has a great attitude, he told me he has been fortunate, he has no need to rush around for any reason, and to just relax, take each day one at a time and enjoy. Good words to take heed. Take care, keep the faith!
