The pathology of all the tissue extracted during your TURP will give you as good a diagnosis as a biopsy would. Do send the tissue slides to Dr. Epstein at Johns Hopkins for a second opinion. He is the best!

Only a small percent of PCa occurs in the transitional zone of the prostate, which is the only zone from which tissue is removed in a TURP. So the pathological information revealed is of limited value in determing the presence of prostate cancer in the prostate as a whole.
