Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. My wife kept telling me not to give up and take one day at a time, I am not in any pain just weakness, so one day at a time it is.🤙

That is good mantra for each and all of us --- focus on TODAY.

Jerry, I am thankful to read about that lowered PSA score.

Roughly 60 points downward --- that's significant.

Spring weather is arriving --- green grass is emerging and buds on the trees --- it's good for the soul & inspires hope, just like your story of determination and tenacity.

Hope today's treatment went well!

Well two weeks ago my wife and I made the decision with my doctor to stop all treatment. Nothing is working and my latest PSA was 491. I discussed with my Oncologist and Cardiologist and they both agreed it was time, I have no quality of life I cannot eat I am so weak it hard to walk all I do is sleep. I was hoping that off the Chemo some of the side effects would lessen so I can enjoy the few months I have left, but so far after two weeks I still feel the same. My doctor has set up an appointment for my wife and I to speak with a Palliative Care doctor I don’t feel I need much at this time my wife takes care of my needs. My doctor said better to have in place in case it becomes necessary, because it takes a while to set up. He said the survival time is usually 3 to 6 months without treatment but everyone is different and I intend to fight as long as possible. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your caring and support. Wish me luck.

Jerry, as always my best wishes for you and your wife. A tough decision on your part, but you certainly put on the best fight you could. Your inspiration will no doubt help many here to continue their fight through the years ahead. Thanks so much and now remember all the great times you and your family shared throughout the many years together. You will not be forgotten.

Jerry, while it's a difficult decision I think you have made the sensible one. You have handled this with grace. Hoping your remaining days are as pain free as possible and filled with love.

Jerry, your decision is not only a difficult one, but a very brave one. It takes a lot to say "enough". Seems like you left it all on the field so to speak, and we are all hoping the rest of your journey is as easy and filled with hapiness as is possible.
Hopefully as time passes since your last treatment, you will start to feel stronger again.

Reading your latest posts, I can't help but be reminded of the words of a very wise man who lived two millennia ago: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness." You've earned that crown. I hope those words bring some comfort in your remaining days.

my buddy got kicked out of hospice after six months and lived another couple of years with decent QOL. good luck Jerry!

My brother opted out of treatment deciding to enjoy what he had left without the effects of chemo.
Yes we all wanted the latest chemo to prolong his time with us but we also wanted him happy.
We spent time and he was blessed to have so many family and friends to be with him.
He enjoyed what was left and had a decent quality of life.
I applaud his and your decision.

I have much respect for your fighting spirit.......at this stage it seems anything is worth trying to extent life out a little longer. Just my two cents.

Jerry2, You have been fighting cancer for a long time. Each of us have a unique situation but we all want live as long as possible with the minimum amount of suffering. Sometimes the treatment is worse than the cancer. I wish you the best and I'm sorry that your are suffering.
