I'm very thankful to read that fellows here are faring well on the new ADT medication known as ORGOVYX (RELUGOLIX) - a daily medication, instead of an injection.
I saw my oncologist yesterday, and stated that I'm not looking to make a change from my ZOLODEX injections, at present, but was curious to know what his thoughts were about
this new form of ADT - in daily medication form.
He said, so far, he is very pleased with the reports of efficacy ORGOVYX has shown. He stated he can ABSOLUTELY see why a daily medication might suit some patients better.
He stated, so far, his prostate cancer patients seem to want to stick with the "tried and true" ADT injections they are used to --- some of which come in multi-month injection doses.
He said some fellows simply stated, "I already take a bunch of pills every day. Just give me the shot, doc!"
So --- for his patients, at least, this newer form of ADT --- in daily prescript
ion form that one takes at home --- hasn't "caught fire" yet --- but he feels it represents a great new option.
I just wanted to hear his thoughts ...
Just an aside, if there are more viable options for ADT --- with more "competition" --- would that ever lead to price reduction in these various forms of ADT, as time goes by --- to stay competitive?
Best to each & all ~~~
