Hi everyone, well I have seen the Nurse manager, Anaethetist, Urologist, booked the room,my wife has started packing the bag, the doctors are very confident and helpful, all I have to do is get through the next week until the op (30th July).

I have had 3 major back operations in the past, this is different, I feel well, no pain, very strange subjecting myself to this, but know that it has to be done, and want it out of my body, wish me luck,glad I found you all :-)

Hi Mal,

I was just like you; we had done all the research, planned everything out in great detail, had all the ducks in a row, and then it's the wait till surgery day. Funny all the worry and fear just seemed to evaporate the morning of the surgery. When the nurse and anesthesiologist wheeled me into the OR I was so relaxed I could have slept without the meds. My doctor mentioned something about falling asleep, and the next recollection I had was being in the recovery room. It seemed as if only a minute had passed.

I have had several other operations and procedure since then, but the PCa surgery seemed the quickest. I'm sure you will find it will be the same for you, and I wish you a speedy uneventful recovery. Good luck to you; we'll be thinking of you, and saying a pray or two as well.

Hi Maldugs. Best of luck to you on this adventure. I too had mixed feelings about changing my life when I didn't feel any pain. But I know it was something I had to do if I was going to survive any length of time. Hang in there and we will be waiting for you on the other side.

You're in countdown mode, Maldugs and you'll sail through smoothly, for sure! I know in the final hours the night before surgery, we went through one last blast of "let's cancel and get out of here." Of course, it was a fleeting thought. And, just a few hours later, we were through and ready to face the next steps.

The time will pass quickly - take care of yourself in the meantime!

Hey Mal,

You are right, all is in place. Remember that the only things you get to take to the OR are your naked body and a great attitude. Be a cheer leader for you medical team. We are here to greet you on the "other side". Best of luck...

Hi Mal........
wishing you the best of luck on your surgery. I too have had major back surgery and Let me tell you recovery from back surgery is lots harder than the prostate surgery. We will look forward to talking with you after your surgery. Remember to relax and no heavy lifting.
