Blood Through Penis., Why?

I am male, 56 years of age.

Today morning, for the first time, I found my bed wet with pool of blood and I woke up, seen that blood jetting out through penis with great velocity making my dress and bedsheet with complete blood.  It continued for about 5 minutes. I rushed to Bath room and applied water over penis continuously for 10 minutes.

It stopped later.  I felt urine sensation.  I urinated normally. After some time, traced of blood is once again coming out.  When urinated, it came out with blood strains.  Slowly, it is getting stopped.  

But the whole scene made me terrific and violent. I want experts to give me the reason and solution for the problem.

Hi Murthy,

I'm sorry that you are going through this.  I don't want to alarm you but you must contact a medical professional.  Have you contacted a doctor today?  Do you have a doctor that you can call afer hours?  If you do, please call him/her right away.  If not, can you get to the emergency room just to get checked out.  It's probably nothing serious but it might some require medical attention. 

We're not medical professionals here so it's really had to guess what's going on.  Please contact a professional and keep us posted.

Dear friends,

I consulted Urologiest and Transplant Surgeon immediately on the advise of our members.  Dcotor advised for KUB Scan, Serum PSA.  In KUB Scan it is found that PROSTATE enlarged to size 41 CC and suggested for Prostatomegaly.  Kidneys are Normal. Doctor explained that the passage of URETHRA  is congested causing strain to the path resulting blood drain out from the walls of urethra, particularly in the early hours or when erectile state or when the bladder is loaded some times.  He prescribed Antibiotics ALEVO -Vevoflox 500 mg (for 5 days ) and DUTAS (for 30 days one time a day).   It takes 3 or 4 days time to restore to normalicy using the drugs. He also told that after 55 years it is common for some people.  I wish to share my experience with my friends because this problem is from PROSTATE Gland.
