Hey Guys...lady in the house w/a ? about PSA for my hunny!

Hey now,

I'm Erin...a Mod @ arthritis and also a nurse.  My hunny Joe, 53, is looking to get bloodwork done next week; he hasn't had any in a few years.

His brother, 57 recently DX with Prostate cancer & had the surgery.

OK, so I know there is the PSA level...but I swear there was another lab, I can't remember but it had to do w/ PSA but it was more acurate?

Anyone familiar? Or am I nuts?

It was some more specific antigen test.

 

Much appreciated any input on it.

p.s. what else should he ask for to be drawn/checked?

PSA and Free PSA is all that he needs drawn for prostate, Erin. Ask for kicks if they'll do a baseline testosterone check too.

  Hey ~ Erin, Smart move getting checked!!! He should be getting this done witin the next 2 weeks.
Oh what us gals have to do to get em' to GO!!!!!!!! Had to put a firecracker under his arse to get a move on! LOL.
