I don't know what to do. It is aggrivating to "watch" your child suffer so even though he, Aaron, is almost 30. He's done his share of rebelling, taking his health for granted, etc...young people are invincible until it all catches up with them in one horrible whirlwind of circumstances! But he seems to be in several of them without any hope in sight!
Is it just the Crohn's, is it Celiac, is it both, or is it something else??? (retorical question) I don't know. His doctors don't say. Throw in depression, frustration, and anger and I just see him in this nightmare that his VA doctors do little to help him with! He answers the same questions over and over and just gets horribly frustrated and almost enraged! He lives in Utah and I in California so I can't firsthand see what he's going though. But we talk on the phone and he e-mails me. His last e-mail sounded like he's coming to the end of his rope...(I wish he'd come here to H.W.)
Since Christmas he's been trying to go by the Celiac rules but he still gets HORRIBLY SICK (with the usual symptoms) and it takes him hours to go to get to sleep night after night. He's so tired and depressed. Then he has trouble at work and home getting along with others. He lives in his house with his brother as a roommate, plus 2 other guys. One of the guys is considering moving out because he can't take Aaron's insane temper!
All this started when he was in Kuwait with the Air Force in '01 to '03. LOTS of stress and responsibility as the war began, he had a very important job in a very cramped/small "box". Originally he was diagnosed with Crohn's. He had to leave the Air Force with that diagnosis in '05.
I'm going to look through previous posts and see what I can find. I should have done that before posting. Oh well...I suppose I'm nearly as frustrated as he is.
Thank you for "listening"...
