I have left-sided ulcerative colitis and found some symptom relief on a gluten-free diet. when I mentioned this to my doc, he asked whether I still had the rash on my chest that I had told him about
several months earlier. I did and he suggested for me to be tested for Celiac. He ordered a blood test from Prometheus and I have not received the results yet. I have been reading here and elsewhere, that you have to be eating gluten for the blood test to be accurate. Was the test a total waste of insurance money? I don't think it included the genetic test so I'm thinking he screwed up. Does anyone know if the instructions for the Prometheus test says that a person should be eating gluten?
