I have read through several sites etc and I am all but convinced that I have a gluten intolerance, but I have not seen much about
anaphylaxis. Have any of you had a massive allergic reaction after eating large amounts of gluten? Is an anaphylactic reaction a side-effect of gluten intolerance?
www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/anaphylaxis/basics/definition/con-20014324I should mention that I eliminated gluten from my diet 10 days ago (because of a severe anaphylactic episode) and for the first time -- possibly ever -- I do not have a headache. It is actually kinda strange because until it went away I wasn't really even aware of what NOT having a headache really feels like. I do now. I also found I can hear things clearly, most likely because my lymph-nodes have almost disappeared and there is no pressure around my ears any more. I have been taking allergy meds for years and will have to get retested after a few months, but I am beginning to wonder if my allergies are also gluten related? I also have no stomach upset of any kind -- again something I have had virtually my entire life. I am gradually becoming aware that I feel fantastic and am kinda freaked out really.
But I would appreciate any info you might have regarding anaphylactic shock and gluten. Is it even remotely possible that I might someday be able to ditch my epi-pen?
Cheers very much!
