I have had thyroid problems for years. Graves disease was diagnosed when I was 19 (now 32) and shortly after the iodine ablasion I went hypo. After having my beautiful baby 8.5 mo ago I have been struggling. I went to the endocrinologist who ran some tests with results that my thyroid results were all in the low normal range but I had a abnormal ANA which they are looking to see if its more significant. I am curious these are the symptoms (which I feel like is a forever long list and I'm being whining but here goes):
fatigue, hot/cold insensitivities, lack of concentration, anxiety, depression, weak nails, ibs, random periods (if I have them very severe), abdominal pain, vitamin d deficency, dry skin, back and hip pain, hair loss (where I don't want it and hair gain where I don't want it...), dry itchy eyes, sleep problems, weight struggles, and I could go on but I'll stop. I've always had a really red face rash but only when I am hot or have done at least minor physical ecertion. I heard ana results are not real reliable but if the thyroid is ok...what is the deal? They said all of the following were normal...testorone levels, blood count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, platelets, tsh, t3, t4, ldl, hdl, triglycerides, glucose, liver panel, bun, creatine. Any ideas. What does it mean that they need to see if it is significant. What is going on?
I am frustrated and confused and would love to have more energy and focus. I miss being me. I used to run now I'm lucky to get a 30 minute walk in. I used to dance for 3-5 hours at a time...not happening. I so enjoy taking care of my baby girl but I get her in bed at 8:30 and bust into tears because I am so fatigued or simply fall asleep. This isn't normal. I am a counselor and assess the likelihood of these symptoms being related to new mommy stresses but I truly believe it is more than that.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time folks!
