My Doc has decided that we need to start at square one to see if she can't pin point what is going on with me. At my last appointment she was thinking maybe I have Lymphedema, but all of my symptoms point to RA on top of Hashi's. So next stop hospital for ultra sound on my neck and arm and more blood tests to see if they show RA now. I was tested in 2008 and it was negative, but I do have arthritis in my hands, then in 2009 is when my thyroid went crazy and tried to grow a new one. So maybe things have changed enough that RA is the culprit in making me miserable now. Hope things get figured out soon I am tired of being sick and tired!!!!

I cannot help you but just wanted to say that I had thyroid issues and now have the diagnosis of RA.
My thyroid was very very large and had to be removed. After removal it was found to have cancer. All treatment is done and I am clear of cancer but now have to take synthroid to regulate what the now gone thyroid cannot.
Long before the thyroid issues I have been complaining of symptoms that seem to be getting worse. First I was diagnosed with fibro and now RA. I also have malabsorption issues and went very low in b-12, iron and D (not at the same time). And, they came with a whole load of symptoms too.
I see my rheumy on the 28th to go over the diagnosis/ medications because what I am on does not seem to be helping.
So, (ho-humm) I am in the same boat. tired of being sick and tired. I, too, hope things get figured out for you, and soon.
Keep me posted. (This forum is very quiet but I will check back in to see how you are from time to time. Usually I am on the fibro one. Everyone is nice and helpful and you dont have to have fibro to be there.)

Mscrowbar, just wondering if you had a colonscopy done to determine the cause of low B12? I have been diagnosed with Crohns this year and my main symptom was low B12.

No, no colonoscopy. The b-12 and other deficiencies are from a gastric bypass I had about
9 years ago. The doctors I am seeing this past 5 years or so are not the same I saw the past 4 years before. And, no one ever told me that deficiencies would follow several years out of this surgery. Well, they showed up one by one and it took several years, much blood work and several doctors to get ALL the deficiencies figured out. And thrown in the middle is the RA/fibro.
