Hashimotos and pregnancy??

I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid due to Hashimotos disease last year. I'm on eltroxin. I would like to start a family but am worried the Hashimotos could cause miscarriages as the antibodies can attack things they see as a foreign body. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Interesting question and I hope you get an answer. Does your dr. have one?
Meanwhile, it's important to know if your dr goes by TSH alone or a full thyroid panel. You don't want a high, even within normal range for TSH; you want a good amount of thyroid circulating through your system for baby's development.

BTW, I meant to also say that many people get and stay pregnant safely on thyroid replacement. I said what I did assuming your dr will only be reassuring. But competent monitoring and dosing is crucial.
