diarrhea with levoxyl?

I bet you are freaking out. My daughter has UC or Crohn's so I know what you are going
through. I never noticed Synthroid making me worse but I always have loose stools. I am
on Armour now and again I haven't noticed that. But I do see that diarrhea is a possible
side effect. I don't know what to tell you because I know that it could really mean
trouble for you. Do you take any probiotics? What I think has made all the difference
for my daughter is that I make homemade kefir and have her drink a glass a day. It
has really helped me too. We have been following the advice in the book Nourishing
Traditions by Sally Fallon. It's full of great information about fermented foods and
recipes. It's an excellent book. I really would try increasing your probiotics and see
if that helps.

If you are seeing a GI for the UC, I would even call the office and ask about the diarrhea.
Maybe there is a different thyroid med you could take that won't cause problems for you.

Are you feeling any better? I really hope that the levoxyl did not start a flare. Armour thyroid
is a "natural" thyroid that is a desiccated thyroid powder made from pig thyroid. It is different
from Synthroid or Levoxyl which are synthetic forms of T4. Because ARmour is made from
pig thyroid it contains T1, T2, T3 and T4. T3 is the thyroid hormone that our bodies use and
we convert T4 to T3. I know some people do fine on Synthroid, but there are a number of
people ( me included ) who feel much better on ARmour.

I was also thinking that you could post on the UC forum and ask if anyone there is on Levoxyl
and if it caused diarrhea and what they did for it. Let me know how you have been feeling.
