Hello ...MY name is Kathy
I have Thyroid Disease and had a Goiter removed when I was in my 40's something. Now I'm 54 and my life has been up and down cause of a job loss and this one Doctor before I loss my Insurance had me on Synthyroid but yrs later I couldn't afford the Synthyroid brand. So when I had to get another new Doctor, I suggested about taking Levothyroxine so I could afford my medicine and the Doctor said okay, that we will keep an eye on the blood work. So now 1 yr later, I'm struggling with my hair not growing and people telling me it's age. I got help paying for my medicine now , so I was getting frustrated cause I kept telling my doctor that something isn't right, but he said that the blood work is fine, so I decided to go back on the Synthyroid to see if this helps me, but it's going on 3 months since I went back on the Synthyroid, and right now I go through crying spells and still my hair. So I decided to see an Endocrinologist but that seemed like a waste of time, kinda. Cause he said that the blood work from my family doctor was being normal, he could not see what basically I was fussing about. But I looked at him like I was still not satisfied, so on March 22nd, I'm going to get blood work checked again since I just started the Synthyroid back up again. But since Jan 2013 I've been watching my hair and nothing seems to be growing and I really get frustrated. I wash my hair and the next day it looks greedy like. I know I sound maybe off the wall, but this is crazy when you think something is happening and not sure what it is. My daughter says I blame everything on my Thyroid issues. My Doctor keeps telling me about my fat index, but I'm also to be on a high fiber diet. I have Osteoarthritis on my left side and my weight does not help (I'm about 260lbs) my height is 5'2. I'm suppose to be 115 lbs for my height. I had a Chiropractor give me a free exam and he said that my right hip is higher then my left, but my spine doctor does not see that in his x-rays. So right now I'm just trying to figure all this out and yes it has me wondering what if it is my Thyroid issues or is it just age creeping up on me?
