I had a thyroid test 2 months ago and the result was under-active but it was not very high. I repeated the test a couple of weeks ago and also tested for antibodies. The thyroid test was normal but had a positive result for antibodies 150. I have been having all symptoms that would suggest hashimoto. Very low energy, high blood pressure readings but normal again, brittle hair, menstrual changes from a regular 28 days now 21 days and last 7 days and very heavy, forgetting what I was going to say during conversations, weight gain, ache and pains and low frolic acid.
I went to see my GP and she said that because my blood was normal and the high reading wasn't that high, despite the positive reading for antibodies, that I would not be treated. She did take more blood to test for the menopause, celiac, diabetics etc.
Just wondering can you have thyroid symptoms with just a positive antibodies and a normal thyroid reading.
Thanks
