Michemiko, you have classic symptoms of low thyroid. Most doctors rely heavily on the TSH test. I don't know how to say this PC, so here it is.. TSH is rubbish. I've always thought so, because mine is usually less than 1 (like, .0-something). I now have a great doctor who also thinks it's rubbish, and she never orders that test. She relies on a free T3, reverse T3, and a shake-down type thermometer.
Get yourself a non-digital thermometer. Put it next to the bed at night so that you can reach over and get it first thing when you wake up. Don't get up first, don't do your stretches. Just take your temperature. It should be 97.8. If you are low, then you can add it to your list of symptoms that would tell a good doctor that you need some thyroid supplement.
Statistically, you will do better on dessicated thyroid or a Cytomel (liothyronine) combo, but it is difficult to convince most doctors of this. They aren't trained that way, and they have little incentive to research and do something different.
Good luck to you.
