I was wildly hyperthyroid before my treatment. I didn't have actual diarrhea, but did get dumping syndrome. This is where your stomach empties too quickly, "dumping" its contents into the duodenum. This causes feelings of nausea/faintness, profuse perspiration and terrible anxiety. Mine would terminate with several episodes of diarrhea, then vomiting once. Before I found out what was causing it, I learned to control it by eating lightly and never having alcohol with my meals.
Hyperthyroidism can definitely decrease the time it takes for food to move through, so can cause frequent stools, most often soft but not liquid. Are you being treated for your hyperthyroidism?
