I have shortness of breath, dizziness and sometimes sudden pressure in my chest..is this included as symptoms of hyperthyroidism??my FT3,FT4 was normal but tsh is not yet.

Hi ,

If your TSH shows as low then you are hyperthyroid and this can cause the symptoms you mentioned .

FT3 normal value 1.4-4.2pg/ml result is- 1.38
FT4 normal value 0.8-2.0 ng/dl result is 0.7
TSH normal value 0.6-5.0 uiu/ml result is 11.0

Please help me i dont know how to analize this result.

Your free T3 and free T4 numbers are low. Even if your numbers are in range, that is not optimal. I like the following information from Stop The Thyroid Madness. Your free T3 should be in the upper 1/4 range, your free T4 should be in the upper 1/2 range.

Hi yra, thank you for posting your labs. Your FT3 and FT4 are too low. They should be in the top half (FT4) and top quartile (FT3) of the range in order to be optimal. While they're within range, many people still feel sick until their numbers are optimal. Your TSH should be around 1-2.

Are you on any meds? Has your doctor tested your thyroid antibodies (TPO and TgAB)? If not, please ask him/her for those tests so you can see if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.

What kind of food do you eat? At a bare minimum, you might want to consider eliminating gluten (wheat, rye, barley and spelt) from your diet. There's an enzyme in our thyroids that is one molecular deviation difference from the gluten protein. If your immune system is confused and attacking your thyroid, when it sees gluten, it goes into attack mode again - attacking both the gluten and your thyroid.

My medication is still neomerdin its Anti thyroid For hyperthyroidism,i dont know what my doctor will prescribe tomorow i dont know if she will give me a new med..anyway do u think its ok to have vaccine like mmr,tetanus and varicella even my lab result is like those result im just thinking i hope it wont affect my heart with vaccine..thank you

I'm confused as to why your doc has you on a med for hyperthyroidism. Your lab values show hypothyroidism. Where do you live? I wonder if the ranges are looked at differently outside the U.S. I'm not sure.

Regardless, if it were me, I wouldn't get ANY vaccination unless required by my job, and even then I'd try to get out of it. It adds unnecessary toxins to an already toxic immune system.

Im from philippines..my dr dont know know my lab result because its only come out today and my schedule for check up is tomorow i dont know what she will give tomorow as new med..im confuse because i feel dizzy now a days and too weak really really weak.is this a sign of hypothyroidism?

Hi yra ,

Your TSH is too high, this means that you take more than enough anti thyroid medication, in your appointment with your doctor ask him to reduce the dose of neomerdin , the aim for TSH should not be 1-2, it should be around 2.5 !

yra, best of luck at your doctor's appointment today. You may want to talk with him about elevated homocysteine and CRP. When you have a high TSH, you're at risk for those two measures being high as well. That's why most doctors will aim to get you at an optimal TSH of 1-2. While other numbers are within range, it's important to be optimal so that you don't run the risk of elevated homocysteine or CRP.

Hello,maybe somebody can help me again..i was hypothyroid as far as i know but my last my Ft3 was on range also FT4 but my TSH i think is too low...the normal is 0.6-5.0 and my result was .30??? Is it too low?my medicine is euthyrox 25mg once a day...pls help thank you..

Hi ,
Now you are hypERthyroid , because your TSH is low , however , it is not too low .

According to my own personal experience what you need to do is reduce your weekly dose of Euthyrox by 50 mcg, aka , take only 125 mcg per week , and repeat TSH in 6-12 weeks .

Hmmm. Interesting, because my TSH is 0.04 and my doc says I'm right where I need to be (with my free T4 being 1.1 and free T3 being 3.1). I have Hashimoto's so that may make a difference with what optimal numbers should look like. I am feeling pretty good, best that I have in years, so I feel it is best for me to go by symptoms, not numbers. I'm also on Armour. Will get bloodwork done again in 3 months.
