Actually, the idea that a "normal" temperature is 98.6 is incorrect. "Normal" temperature is a range and can vary widely from that mean. "Normal" is a range, and the average or usual body temperature for each individual can be different. Anything between 97 and 99 is considered normal, and it isn't considered a fever unless the temperature in an adult is above 100.
My body temperature averages about 97.4 and has for my whole life. While I feel warmer if I'm hyperthyroid, it doesn't really raise my body temperature significantly - maybe to 98
Information from the Mayo Clinic says: "Wilson’s thyroid syndrome or WTS, is an alternative medicine concept which is not recognized as a medical condition by evidence-based medicine." No objective evidence for this syndrome has ever been presented.
